On-device first

Face detection is designed to run on the device so the app can react in real time when someone looks at your screen.

No face gallery

Camera frames are used for live detection and are not intended to become a stored photo gallery or biometric database.

What the app does

Privacy Display AI helps protect your screen from shoulder surfers by using the front camera, app-aware protection rules, and a privacy overlay.

Depending on the production configuration, the app can also offer subscriptions, privacy zones, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising.

Permissions requested

  • Camera for real-time face detection.
  • Overlay / display over other apps for the privacy veil.
  • Notifications for status and reminders.
  • Usage access for app-aware protection modes.
  • Location for Privacy Zones, if you enable them.

Data processed

  • Camera frames may be processed in real time to detect nearby faces. Face images are not intended to be uploaded to our servers.
  • Location may be processed only if you enable Privacy Zones, so the app can trigger protection rules in user-defined places.
  • Purchase and subscription metadata may be processed by Google Play and RevenueCat to unlock Pro entitlements.
  • App interaction events and crash logs may be processed through Firebase if production analytics and monitoring are enabled.
  • Website visit analytics may be processed by Google Analytics when you browse privacydisplay.app.
  • Device and advertising identifiers may be processed by Google AdMob if advertising is enabled.

Third-party services

  • Google Play for billing.
  • RevenueCat for subscription management.
  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for product quality.
  • Google Analytics for website traffic measurement.
  • Google AdMob for advertising.

Your choices

  • You can refuse permissions you do not want to grant.
  • You can disable optional features.
  • You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored device data.
  • Data retained by third-party providers remains subject to their own privacy policies.
